In ref to your article on Jan 1 – For 2012, let’s resolve ……, all of your suggestions would obviously force Congress to govern more for the people rather than for their own self-interests, but how do you actually put these suggestions in place. The Congress people are not going to vote on changing something that is not in their best interest. Your final sentence in the article says “this is a good day …..” but how does the average citizen do something about it. I’m sure I’m like millions of other citizens who feel like they have no voice in making these changes. You didn’t say anything about Term Limits being an effective way of getting self interest & corruption out (or at least reduced) of the political system. Do you not think it would help? Personally, I think it is the only way of truly bringing about the changes that are needed to get most of the self-interest & corruption out of the system. I have gotten numerous emails this past year advocating term limits, but of course nothing comes from it. Why are you not for term limits as a way to help the political process? Please comment & use your “voice” to do whatever you can to bring about the changes you have brought up in the article. Thanks for trying to call me back, but I thought this writing would probably be a better representation of my thoughts & take less of your time as well.
